Delegation from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, visits the Institute of International Relations, Tsinghua University

On November 18, 2025, Kumar Ramakrishna, Dean of the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, led a delegation to the Institute of International Relations at Tsinghua University (TUIIR). The visiting group was received by TUIIR representatives including Professors Yan Xuetong and Sun Xuefeng, as well as Dr. Li Li, Dr. Tang Xinhua, Dr. Zhou Jianren, and Mr. Ai Banglin.

During the meeting, the two sides held a round-table discussion, exchanging views on a wide range of international issues such as U.S. foreign policy under President Donald Trump, regional conflicts, economic security, the role of ASEAN, and the evolving global order.

Both sides acknowledged that the trend of deglobalization is unlikely to be reversed in the short term. They also recognized that, despite multiple challenges confronting ASEAN and Southeast Asian nations, ASEAN continues to serve as a pivotal force in upholding regional security and stability. Thanks to its established mediation mechanisms, disputes among member states are effectively managed, thereby limiting opportunities for external powers to intervene in regional affairs.
